Have the best Halloweentown movie night with these fun and delicious pumpkin recipes. Enjoy a nice warm cup of homemade apple cider made from fresh apples (or as I like to call it- Sweat of a Ghost inspired by their potion). For a treat, make up some adorable homemade pumpkin hand pies shaped as pumpkins and ghosts. These recipes are perfect for watching Halloweentown, fall nights, and Halloween festivities during spooky season.

Halloweentown Movie Night

Bubble, Bubble, Toil, and Trouble.

If you grew up in the 1990's then you probably had a childhood that revolved around watching Halloweentown on the Disney Channel the entire month of October. It may not be the best movie out there, but it's filled with so much nostalgia that I can't pass it up each year. Since this movie has innocent Halloween vibes, I wanted the recipes to be cute and fun!

31 Days of Halloween

These Halloweentown themed recipes were created for my 31 Days of Halloween where every day in October I come up with Halloween snacks and drink recipe to pair with horror films, Halloween movies, or a Halloween activity. It's so much fun and a great way to celebrate the spooky holiday.

Halloweentown: Movie Fun Facts

Find these facts plus more over on Wikipedia's Halloweentown Page and on Mental Floss!

Release Date: October 17, 1998

✽ There's now three sequels: Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge, Halloweentown High, and Return to Halloweentown.

✽ Halloweentown was filmed in St. Helens, Oregon and Scappoose, Oregon.

✽ Each year in St. Helens Oregon they light up a large jack o'lantern in October during the 'Spirit of Halloweentown'.

✽ Halloweentown was originally planned to be a darker film for adults, but it was later changed to target a younger audience.

Now let's get into the two recipes I created for our Halloweentown movie night!

Homemade Apple Cider (AKA: Sweat of a Ghost)

Halloweentown Drink

In order to use their witch powers to fight the 'bad thing', they need to make a potion that consists of the hair of a werewolf, a vampire's fang, and the sweat of a ghost. Apple cider is what I'd imagine the sweat of a ghost looking like. It may not rid your life of any evil forces, but it sure is good!

This homemade apple cider is made from real apples and spices. It simmers for at least 3 hours just like any good brew does to get really flavorful!

The great thing about making apple cider at home is that you can adjust the amount of sugar you put in to your liking. Also to spice things up, you can add in any liquor to the mix. My favorite is spiced rum.

Halloween Pumpkin Hand Pies

Halloweentown Snack

These Halloween pumpkin hand pies are so cute and tasty. To make them really fit into the theme of Halloweentown, opt for using witch cookie cutters or drawing witch-themed items when cutting out the pie dough and pumpkin shapes.

These hand pies are filled with pumpkin, sugar, vanilla, and all of the best fall spices. Once they are baked, I like to cover them in my homemade browned butter glaze.
