As quick as can be - this Blender Apple Bread takes only minutes to whip up. Super moist and scrumptious!

My fun with the blender recipes continues. I mentioned this Apple Bread in the last post and today it's time to share the recipe. Just like the Blender Apple Butter, this bread takes minutes to whip up in a blender.

Besides, you can never have too many recipes for quick breads for the cold seasons. They are fun to make and even more fun to snack on. Afternoon tea time is a good excuse to make them.

I know that when you think about things to make using a blender, baked goods are most likely not on top of your list (hello smoothies, homemade peanut butter or Nutella) but you really can easily whip up a batter for cupcakes, muffins or breads.

This recipe requires only 1 and a half of a Granny Smith apple (snack on the other half while the bread is baking) and all you need to do is quarter it because the blender does the rest. The only thing I would do differently next time, is to bake this bread in a smaller pan, like 8" x 4" loaf pan instead my 9" x 5" pan. The bread is on a shorter side but that does not affect the taste or the texture.

Hi Becca! I used quite powerful blender for this recipe. If your blender is struggling to mix all ingredients, I suggest chopping the apples into small pieces and blending the batter ingredients first and then adding apples. Hope this helps!

This is so interesting! I recently went to a gluten free baking class and they made a blender bread with apples and bananas. I was so intrigued and now I want to try it with a flour version too!

That is so cool, Anna! I have a cheapo blender at home but it should do the job. I'd love one of the fancier machines, like a Vitamix. Someday! I love making quick breads. I try to make a loaf every weekend so that I can snack on it during the week. My husband will love the apples in here.

Avoid soft, mushy apples. I use Granny Smith because overall, its flavor and texture are the best for baking. I also love sweet apples in this bread like Honeycrisp, Fuji, and Pink Lady. Applesauce: If you don't have unsweetened applesauce, use the same amount of plain yogurt or sour cream.

What is the sweetest apple to bake with? ›

Honeycrisp. One of the sweetest apples around, this Midwestern favorite is good for anything—including baking. It boasts a distinctive juicy crispness and is firm enough that it won't cook down much. It complements just about any other apple variety to make a stellar pie.

Why does my apple bread fall in the middle? ›

LEAVENING AGENT

Expired: If your baking soda or powder is expired it will not leaven your loaf or cake, causing it to sink in the center. It can expire or lose its effectiveness even before the expiration date. Learn how to test your baking soda and powder for freshness here.

Is it safe to eat bread that was left out overnight? ›

While it's safe to keep many baked goods at room temperature, it depends on the item and should be taken on a case-by-case basis. For instance, breads and rolls can last up to four days at room temperature, but any bread with meat or hard-boiled eggs should be refrigerated within two hours, according to the USDA.

Why shouldn't you freeze bread? ›

And then there's the biggie: health risks. Unwrapped bread can become a playground for bacteria, both in the crumb and the crust. Sure, freezing slows down these pesky microbes, but it doesn't eliminate them completely. And once you thaw your bread, any bacteria present can kick back into high gear.

Are Gala apples good for bread? ›

What kind of apples are good for bread? Firm, less sweet/more tart apples like Granny Smith, Gala, Pink Lady, and Cortland work best. Don't use a soft apple like McIntosh.

Are Gala apples good for baking? ›

Gala: If you want extra sweetness without the soft texture, choose Gala apples for your pie. As with Golden Delicious apples, bakers sometimes reduce the sugar in their recipes due to this variety's extra-sweet flavor.

Are Honeycrisp apples good for baking? ›

With a crisp, juicy texture, Honeycrisps are lovely eaten out of hand, but they also bake up wonderfully. As the name implies, these apples are sweet with a hint of honey, but they are still mild enough to play well in any baked good.

Are Gala apples good for baking apple crisp? ›

Under the simple butter-sugar-flour-and-oat topping is the apple filling scented with cinnamon. Our test kitchen says baking apples, like Rome or Cortland, are the best varieties to use for apple crisp, but Empire, Gala, or Braeburn apples are also good in this recipe.
